Is Email Marketing really working? – Facts and Tips

Email Marketing has been around for so long, and is definitely not disappearing any time soon!

There’s many that argue that Email Marketing is simply useless when it comes to Internet Marketing. The facts suggest otherwise. The US would not be spending over a 1 Billion Dollars if it was not working. If you don’t interact with emails from, that does not mean that other people do not. Lincolnshire is a large county, but we have seen many businesses use Email Marketing shockingly well… and terribly! Get it right and Lincolnshire can be your pot of gold for business.

Email Marketing should also be used as part of your Digital/ Internet Marketing strategies; it can also be one of the most cost-effective ways of communicating with your customers and stakeholders! If done correctly, the return on investment is huge!

It’s important to create an effective Email Strategy, this should include things such as time frames, audiences, messages, legal compliance, just to name a few. It’s also extremely important to track your campaigns, by using email analytics you will be able to know what is working, and what is not. You should also use A/B Testing with a sample of your mailing list to see what is working and why.

Every email you send should be valuable and worth reading to your recipients, there’s no point wasting time sending things that they already know, give them something they want…  give them something they need! That will increase the likelihood of them engaging and actually opening up your email in the first place.

Depending on the industry you are in, it’s probably not a good idea to bombard people with emails, unless they have subscribed to ‘Daily Tips’ or something similar. It does annoy people, and the more you do it the less effective your emails become; people begin to just delete your emails without even opening them. Make sure your Email Subjects are intriguing, snappy and make sure the content is interesting and worth reading!
