10 Christmas Marketing & Sales Tips

Tips you must be using to take advantage of the Christmas rush!

As Christmas draws in closer, a lot of businesses like yours are stuck on what to do and are afraid the competition will perform better. It may be too early to think about it, but the sooner you start developing your campaigns and strategies the better. Below are some marketing and sales tips you can follow to make the most out of the Christmas hustle and bustle!

1 – Social Media Graphics

Update all of your social media graphics, not only does it look like your company is in business but it can remind your customers to buy a gift – they may even buy it from you!

2 – Sort out Your Webpages

For E-commerce businesses, have ‘His’ or ‘Her’ pages, this allows your customers to quickly find what they are looking for. Having other appropriate Christmas categories are always useful too.

3 – Social Media Advent Calendar

Advertise an offer, share a new tip, trick or give something away everyday of up-to the run-up to Christmas. Customers are more likely to remember you more if you’re posting offers everyday. We all love a bargain!

4 – Competitions

Offer competitions on your social media – this is an excellent opportunity to increase exposure. People that may be short of cash will quickly re-tweet or share your post and pretty much do all the advertising for you. This is often a really effective way to promote a business, especially if you have a small budget to work with.

5 – Delivery Offers

Offer free-delivery to your existing customers on social media using discount codes or offer discounts on your website to all visitors.

6 – Gift Packages

Offer gift packages – a lot of people hate shopping around for gifts, so why not make their life easier and tell them what they may want.

7 – Advertise

This may sound like the most obvious, but a lot of people forget to do this. Advertise all of your top selling or perhaps weaker products/ services on social media and search engines. You do have to spend money to make money sometimes!

8 – Website Copy

Update your website’s copy including item descriptions to help develop a Christmas buzz which of course will encourage sales.

9 – Share Buttons

You may be surprised but a lot of purchases come from recommendations. If you have not already, make sure your website’s product pages all have share buttons allowing your customers share their favourite items with their friends and families.

10 – Email Marketing

Send out an email marketing campaign to your existing or recent customers. Providing they have had a good experience previously, they are more likely to repurchase something from you.
